Selling Malcolm X

on BBC Radio 4 FM

This month marks the 40th anniversary of the assassination of Malcolm X. A few years ago, his private papers turned up for sale on an internet auction site. Tony Phillips travels to Harlem to meet llyasah Shabazz, one of Malcolm X's six daughters, to discover exactly how this came about and to read through some of the retrieved archive, which offers rare insights into her father's complex and controversial life.
