Masterman Ready by CAPTAIN MARRYAT abridged for radio in ten parts by HOWARD JONES
Read by David Mahlowe
Captain Marryat, who wrote many stirring stories, was born in 1792. He joined the Royal Navy as a midshipman and when he retired after 24 years' service he promised to write a book for his children. The result Was Masterman Ready , published in 1841. It at once proved popular and has scarcely ever been out of print since that time.
