A concert given at the Barbican, London, on Saturday evening, featuring music by Mark-Anthony Turnage and Ravel, and symphonies by Leonard Bernstein.
Bernstein's first symphony sets words from Lamentations of Jeremiah, sung by soprano, and the third symphony is a setting of the Kaddish, the Jewish hymn to the dead, scored for chorus, children's voices and soprano.
