Thirty years ago this week one of Britain's most popular balladeers took his own life. He was only 38 years old. What went wrong? Dennis Lotis recalls the career of the "British
Bing Crosby" and plays the hits that brought him success. With contributions from fellow performers Russ Conway and the Beverley Sisters, musical director Johnny Pearson , former TV producer John Ammonds and Holliday's surviving son Michael Milne.
The programme also contains a tribute from
Bing Crosby and rare archive recordings of Holliday himself. Producer Anthony Wills
