Lester Young. This week Julian Joseph pays tribute to the great tenor saxophonist Lester Young , also known as "the President", a nickname given to him by his friend Billie Holiday. Along with Coleman Hawkins he was one of the original tenor stylists who was to influence almost every saxophonist to follow, not least Stan Getz. Music includes classic sessions with Count Basie. Nat "King" Cole and Oscar Peterson.
