'THE NEW ZEALANDERS ENTERTAIN'

on BBC Home Service Basic

View in Radio Times

Part of a Camp Concert performed and presented by members of the New Zealand contingent from ' Somewhere in England '
Listeners have already heard ' Private Smith ' entertaining, ' Gunner Smith ' doing likewise, and also ' Aircraftman Smith '. So, with the Naval show that Vivian Ellis presented from Plymouth, a fairly representative selection of the talents possessed by our men in the Forces has already been broadcast. And listeners know what great stuff it is.
Today they are to hear a sample supplied by the New Zealand forces already in this country and on their way to France. And these men of the ' two islands ' are not likely to be behind in raising laughs.
On February 9 it will be the turn of the Canadian forces already over here. And at a later date the Australian forces-known to everyone as Aussies-will show their paces on the stage.
