A Challenge Match
Boxers v. Footballers
Described by Charlie Garner from Belsize Tavern, Swiss Cottage

Listeners are to hear a commentary on what surely is the darts match of the season. A team of boxers captained by Syd Hulls , the boxing promoter, is to play a team of Tottenham Hotspur players captained by Willie Hall , inside-left last season both for the Spurs and for England and scorer of five goals in an International. Each team will consist of eight players, and among the boxers it is expected that Len Harvey, Eric Boon, Tommy Farr, Eddie Phillips, Jack Bloomfield, Bombardier Billy Wells, and Jimmy Wilde will turn out.

The landlord of the Belsize Tavern, near Swiss Cottage - Jack Henry , ex-Detective Inspector of Scotland Yard, who is responsible for the current series, 'What Price Crime?' in Lucky Dip - has been associated with Tottenham and boxers for the past thirty years. He regards it as a gesture both to himself and to sport that so many men who have made their name in the ring and on the football ground should assemble in his tavern to play darts tonight. He will share the commentary with Charlie Garner.
