First of two programmes with violin concertos played by Joseph Silverstein. who, since 1963, has been the ' concert-master ' of the BOSTON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA. Today's performances come from concerts conducted by Erich Leinsdorf in 1963 and 1967 Brahms Concerto in A minor, for violin, cello and orchestra, with Samuel Mayes (at that time the orchestra's principal cellist)
