4: Training the Racehorse
What is involved in training a racehorse to win? To find out, Michael Rodd goes to Fyfield House, Andover, where Toby Balding , one of Britain's leading trainers, puts his string of 80 horses through their day-to-day preparation for National Hunt and Flat Racing.
With the working day starting before 6.0 am and ending at 9.0 at night - it's a life of real dedication for everyone working at the stables - for the lads, head lad, travelling lad, blacksmith, apprentices and jockey as well as for the trainer. All have one thing in common - a great love for the horse combined with the dream of winning a big race like the Grand National.
