Machines begin to be used for teaching-teaching punch-card operators to punch cards, for instance; but also teaching children, even to read, in school. Mr. Reid talks of Professor Skinner's work on these lines at Harvard which he thinks is best regarded as the introduction of automation, or something like it, to the classroom.
