Carleton Hobbs , always known to his colleagues as ' Hobbo ', died last summer at the age of 80. His radio career spanned 54 years and included over 3,000 separate performances. The Radio Drama Students' Prize, which takes place this week. has been renamed The Carleton Hobbs Award in his memory.
In this programme, compiled and introduced by HALLAM TENNYSON. 'Hobbo ' is recalled by those who worked with him, and commemorated with extracts from some of his performances.
