For the next four days the oldest golf club in the world plays host to the greatest golfers in the world, contesting the oldest championship in the world. The 12 previous winners of the Open over the renowned Muirfield links include some of golfs illustrious names. Harry Vardon , James Braid Walter Hagen , Henry Cotton Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson all won here, while
Lee Trevino , by chipping into the hole from off the green, snatched the Old Claret Jug from Nicklaus and Tony Jacklin 15 years ago.
