ONE life

on BBC One London

7/7. Detox or Die. David G Scott has been an addict for 20 years, first with heroin and then methadone, a drug that seems harder to kick than its illegal equivalent. In an intimate film shot by himself, David attempts to beat his habit through an unauthorised and potentially lethal method that involves an agonising 36-hour detox. Derived from an African shrub, ibogaine may break David's addiction, or himself, for good. Director David G Scott : Producer John Archer
