3: Copenhagen Music Society
In the spring of 1848 war broke out between Prussia and Denmark and Gade returned to Copenhagen. Once there, he took it upon himself to re-organise the Music Society, which began to flourish under his leadership. Donald Macleod discusses Gade's contribution to
