One of the leading lights of the New York jazz scene, composer and saxophonist Tim Berne brought his sextet to this country last April. They were joined by Django Bates (tenor horn/ keyboards) to play bass, luna; It could've been a lot worse and a new piece specially commissioned by Birmingham Jazz.
