Grandstand Special: The View from Space

on BBC One London

"I never saw anything like this circuit of the earth seen from space" (Sun)

What has man seen from space during his short trips out of our atmosphere? Can the findings of space exploration be used to control our environment here on earth?
During the Apollo 8 mission astronauts Borman, Lovell, and Anders shot some highly original film of the earth's surface. Much of this, with film from other space missions, is used in this afternoon's programme in a remarkable and unusual examination of the earth from space.
