Brian Clarke

on BBC One London

The Story so Far
Omnibus follows a packed and unpredictable year in the life of a young artist. The last 12 months have been vital ones in the career of 25-year-old painter and stained-glass artist Brian Clarke. His talents are recognised and celebrated in America, but he hasn't met with the success he deserves at home in England.
Omnibus cameras record a year in which Clarke has finished a huge commission for paintings and glass in Nottingham, visited the USA where he was feted by publishers and gallery owners, and laboured long to prepare work for his first one-man exhibition in London. This show, Clarke hoped, would bring him the popular recognition in England which has so far eluded him. However, there was to be a dramatic and totally unexpected end to the year.
