Mr. Lester Pearson, Canadian Minister for External Affairs, looks at the Commonwealth from across the Atlantic. A Canadian educated at Toronto and Oxford, he has been President of the General Assembly of the United Nations and is one of the architects of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation. Mr. Pearson sees his own par.t of the Commonwealth as itself a pant of North America, and yet involved in all 'the European and Asian problems of dollars and defence.
