Live coverage of Liverpool's Uefa Cup first-round, second-leg tie against Romania's Rapid Bucharest at Anfield (kickoff 8.05pm).
After missing out on European football last season, Liverpool will be keen to have a long run in the competition they have won twice before. Their last Uefa Cup campaign was two seasons ago when they were knocked out by Spain's Celta Vigo in the third round.
Manager Gerard Houllier will be looking to players of the quality of Michael Owen, Steven Gerrard, Dietmar Hamann and Markus Babbel for an improved showing this time round. Owen confirmed his liking for the international stage with a late equaliser for England against World and European champions France in Paris earlier in the month, and followed that up with a first half hat-trick against Aston Villa in the Premiership four days later.
Liverpool will be expected to finish off their opponents, but Rapid Bucharest have the potential to cause upset. They earned their place in this season's competition with a 3-1 aggregate win over Armenians Mika Ashtarak in the qualifying round.
Introduced by Gary Lineker with Alan Hansen and Mark Lawrenson. Commentary by John Motson and Trevor Brooking.
