Wildlife on One: Kuiseb - The Vanishing River

on BBC One London

The third of six programmes

A battle is being waged between the Kuiseb River and red desert sands of Namibia. For thousands of years each has fought to stop the other's flow. Now the balance is changing - for most of the year the river is dry. The parched river waits for the rains, as do the animals. Remarkably in this hostile African wilderness, baboons and frogs, zebras and dragonflies manage to survive and join the waiting game-waiting for the river to flood.
