Laurel and Hardy: Help Mates

on BBC One London

Two of the world's greatest laughter-makers in a season of their comedy films.
A Hal Roach film

When Mr. Hardy receives a telegram from his wife saying that she is coming back a day early from vacation he calls in his friend Mr. Laurel to help clear up the evidence of a wild party. Stan's assistance, needless to say, results in a holocaust. This is one of the finest shorts made by this beloved pair. Ollie's genteel pomposity, turning to his well-known stare at the camera as Stan gets him into 'another fine mess', is here exploited to perfection.
