Euclio, a miser, pretends to the outside world that he's a pauper. But hidden away in his house is his precious pot of gold and he spends most of his time keeping a very careful eye on it. Not careful enough though, for on his daughter's wedding day Mars is in conjunction with Venus which can only spell disaster, and what with all the dreadful people coming and going something is bound to go wrong...
