A programme for children under five
Nursery rhymes, stories, and music
Once upon . a time there were three-mother sheep and their lambs and one day they got a shock because the big wind came and blew them right out of their field. When the farmer saw them he was very cross, but when the mother lambs told him their story he wasn't so cross. But he was cross with the big wind and so was the fairy. She sended him away with her wand and he never came back again.' This story,' wrote the mother of a five-and-a-half-year-old girl, ' I have taken down, without any alteration at all, from my young daughter's dictation. She was telling it to her small brother.' What a pleasant example of the genuine creative effort which the impetus of our programmes may produce!
Today our storyteller is Julia Lang , and the story, ' Roly, Poly, and Pudding ' by Jane Alan. Lorna Pegram will be back to introduce the programme* for the coming two weeks.
