Chris de Souza presents Radio 3's contribution to the BBC's annual fund-raising event, live from Studio One, Pebble Mill. Mary Wiegold sings five new songs with the Composer's Ensemble conducted by Dominic Muldowney. And there will be an auction of the manuscript scores of the songs, by Elvis Costello , Robin Holloway ,
Nicholas Maw , Dominic Muldowney and Robert Saxton. Also up for auction will be Simon Rattle 's baton

The pianist Wayne Marshall will be improvising on suggestions from the studio audience, and there will be more music from the finalists of this year's BBC Young Musician of the Year competition.
