Sierra Maestra
In the second of six programmes of music from different countries,
Jo Shinner meets the group Sierra Maestra, named after the famous Cuban mountain range.
Sierra Maestra were formed in the mid-70s when a group of music students at Havana University began playing Cuba's traditional son rhythm. In this programme they play their first national hit Dame un traguito, Cachito Pa'Huele and No me flores mas recorded in a special session for Radio 3.
