by PETER MCDOUGALL with Carl is a long-term shore patrolman at the US Polaris base in Scotland, and his marriage to a Scots girl is failing. His brother-in-law, Willie, is already separated. In the bars of Greenock and the Holy Loch, Carl and Willie arrive at decisions which will change their lives.
