Chris de Souza. The famous Bolero ends the week of programmes exploring the music of Ravel, in a historic recording from 1932. Madeleine Milhaud describes the social and cultural milieu of Paris in the early part of the century, especially the receptions Ravel received at premieres of his music.
Manuel Rosenthal reveals Ravel's view on the music of Arnold Schoenberg.
