John Houseman The year is 2018.
Poverty, sickness and international tension have been eliminated from the world. In this futuristic society, the most Popular sport is rollerball, a vicious, fast-moving combination of football and hockey. The violence of the game is designed to release anti-social feelings among the spectators, but gradually they clamour for more and more excitement. The games become tougher until finally the opposing teams decide on a New York game with no holds barred.
