Another Country: Tibet In Scotland

on BBC Radio 3

Scottish poet Kathleen Jamie 's visit to Tibet 12 years ago had an enormous impact on her. Last summer she cycled to Samye Ling near Lockerbie in Scotland, which was the first Tibetan centre in the West, founded in 1967. It provides Buddhist training, is dedicated to the preservation of Tibetan culture and is a refuge fortherapy and inter-faith understanding. But can Tibet find a real home in Dumfriesshire?
