COLLIN BROOKS
Collin Brooks is the editor of the Sunday Dispatch and sometime editor of The Yorkshire Post ; he is also the author of many books, ranging from works on economic history to detective stories, and novels of more serious character written over the pseudonym of ' Barnaby Brook. ' Tonight (in place of December 10 when his broadcast was postponed) he is going to talk about the way in which some books lead one on to other authors apparently remote ; for instance, Kipling to Surtees and Jane Austen ; Dickens to Smollett and Marryat. He will talk almost entirely about old books.
