Mrs. Dale, the doctor's wife, records the daily happenings in the life of her family
Last week David gave Gwen two newly-published books. To her, surprise, the first one had almost exactly the some plot as Maud French's synopsis of the novel she was trying to persuade Richard Fulton to write with her. Gwen told Mr. Fulton, who bought a copy which he sent to Maud with a polite note saying it would be pointless for her to write a novel like it. However, when Mrs. Freeman went to tea later in the week. Maud was busy thinking up another plot which Richard could write with her. Baal's, the toy manufacturers, paid Bob fifty pounds for the invention of his mechanical toy. To celebrate the occasion he took Jenny dancing. Dr. Dale agreed to give six lectures for a Civil Defence course. Christopher Allardyce told Mrs. Dale that he had changed his plans. His sister had offered to come from South Africa and make a home for him and Timothy. The Dales agreed to keep Timothy until everything was settled.
