Hubert Bateman , a Hull man who lives in Manchester, is a well-known football referee and administrator. Though he has done much good work for Association football, he is now principally concerned with the Rugby game and with Rugby League matches. He has refereed a cup final at Wembley. Apart from his versatility in the sporting world, he lectures on subjects that include psychology and sociology.
