Huckleberry Finn and his Friends: 23: Jim Disappears

on BBC One London

Serial in 26 parts based on the stories by Mark Twain

The Duke and the Dauphin rehearsed their outrageous Shakespearean act on the raft. The Dauphin fell overboard and Huck saved him. On dry land, the show went on but it was so terrible that the audience threw vegetables. The next night was worse and they didn't even take enough money to pay for the hall. Then the Duke and Dauphin played a trick on the townsfolk, enticed them in and once they'd collected the entrance money, bolted for the raft. Huck, Jim and the two 'actors' shoved off just before the mob closed in.
