The Last of the Blonde Bombshells

on BBC One London

Another chance to see this one-off musical drama starring Judi Dench - who won both a Bafta and a Golden Globe for her performance. First shown in 2000 it has a star-studded cast, that includes Ian Holm, and was written by Alan Plater.
Newly widowed Elizabeth realises that she was happiest when playing in an (almost) all-girl swing band during the Second World War. When she meets the cross-dressing drummer Patrick the two decide to reunite the band for one last performance. Contains strong language.
