starring Leslie Howard with Francis L. Sullivan Mary Morris
In this latter-day version of The Scarlet Pimpernel, Leslie Howard stars as a seemingly vague professor, carrying out research in Germany. In reality he is rescuing potential victims of the Nazis. Irony, humour and romance are blended into this exciting drama.
The film, produced and directed by its star, is being shown as a complement to the tribute to Leslie Howard , featured in the BBC1 season The British Greats.
