A military aircraft on a training mission crashes in the middle of a wood, close to the coastline. The pilots are presumed dead, drowned at sea. But one airman has survived, badly injured and unable to move. He is discovered by two children, so rescue is surely at hand. But the children seem unable to take his plight seriously; to them he is merely an extension of their fantasy world....
