The Real Marigold on Tour

Series 3

Episode 2: Argentina

Duration: 58 minutes

First broadcast: on BBC One WestLatest broadcast: on BBC Two Northern Ireland

Marigold on Tour favourites Paul Nicholas, Sheila Ferguson, Wayne Sleep and Jan Leeming team up for an adventure in the home of the tango, Argentina.

Staying in Buenos Aires, the group begin their time in the city with a visit to a late-night tango event. While none of them know the steps, they dance with the locals into the small hours, with one man in particular catching the eye of Jan.

After a slow start the next day, the group are soon up and out exploring what the cultural capital of Argentina has on offer. Having duetted together in the past, Sheila and Paul book a tango singing lesson, while Wayne and Jan enrol in a life drawing class. Despite being shocked by the nude male model, Jan catches the attention of another member of the class who asks her out on a date. Later that night at a cocktail bar, a revelation from her new mystery man brings the budding romance swiftly to an end.

After a visit to a university for the elderly, Wayne and Paul go for a gamble at the city's premiere racecourse, while Sheila and Jan head out shopping for tango shoes. For their final night in Buenos Aires, Sheila and Paul find a venue where they can perform the Tango song they learned earlier in the week. One of the oldest restaurants in Buenos Aires, the unique and evocative surroundings provide the group with an opportunity to reflect on their memorable time in the city. Show less
