Will Guest travels from 2016 to a future Utopia – which comes from the Greek ou-topos, meaning 'no-place' or 'nowhere'.
There is uneasy antagonism between Will's 21st Century values and those of 'Nowhere'. He sets out on a time travelling voyage of discovery, finding a new love for society, as well as a woman.
‘News from Nowhere’ is a classic piece of futuristic writing, first published in 1890 by artist, designer and socialist William Morris.
Its central tenet - that society should re-find the value of work and thrive on beauty, rather than consumerism - is timely.
This updated version dramatised by Sarah Woods revisits Morris' vision of a new society.
