The Archers

24/08/2018

Duration: 13 minutes

First broadcast: on BBC Radio 4 FMLatest broadcast: on BBC Radio 4 LW

Emma complains to Susan about being silenced in the parish council meetings over the housing development. The conflict of interest means Neil is also prevented from speaking.

After Lily ignores Fallon in the Tea Room, Fallon and Emma agree that Harrison shouldn't be blamed for arresting Freddie - it's his job after all. Lynda has also been causing problems, pestering Harrison about Constanza's brief abduction. Knowing it was Susan who stole the llama, Fallon seeks her out and asks her to confess. Susan's worried about the damage to her reputation. Fallon's sorry but insists Lynda is told. If Susan doesn't tell her, Fallon will.

Elizabeth heads to Freddie's college hoping to find someone to write his character reference. She discusses Freddie's less-than-perfect academic record with Russ who points out that Freddie has good qualities too. He believes Freddie will learn from his mistake and offers to write the reference. Back at Lower Loxley Elizabeth tells Lily the good news and is full of praise for Russ - who has already emailed over a glowing reference. Lily is shocked but says she's glad her mum likes Russ because he's amazing. When Elizabeth probes further Lily reveals that she and Russ love each other and are in a relationship. Show less
