How often should you wash your hair? Presenter Tina Daheley was surprised by the reaction to her post on social media about washing her hair only once a week. Trichologist Eleanore Richardson says the answer to 'how often?' depends on a multitude of factors, including how old you are.

Do you have a suffragette in the family? To mark the suffrage centenary of women first being given the vote we'll be hearing from some of you who have a suffragette ancestor. Today we talk to Anella Wickenden about her great grandmother Dora Spong.

How should parents talk to their children about violence and staying safe on the streets? The latest deaths in London have brought the total number killed in the city this year to more than 50, while knife crime is on the increase in England and Wales. What's an appropriate age to begin a conversation and what practical advice can you give? Emily Beever works with Youth Link, the national agency for youth work in Scotland where deaths through knife crime have fallen. Lorraine Jones has been involved in youth and community work since her son died in a stabbing in London three years ago.

A symposium for 'motherless daughters' will take place this weekend, the first of its kind in the UK. Many of those attending will be considering not only the past loss of their mother, but the impact this might have on their own children as a 'motherless mother'. We hear from organiser Hope Edelman who's held similar events in the US and psychotherapist and co-host Mandy Gosling.

Author Anbara Salam discusses her debut novel set on a rat-infested remote island in the Pacific, inspired partly by her own experience.
