Sann tro na meadhanan shòisealta a fhuair na peathraichean Kerry is Kirsty Nic a'Phi a Uibhist à Deas a-mach càite an robh na slighean baidhseagail a b' fheàrr le muinntir na dùthcha. An turus seo tha iad ann an Asainnte cuide ri Ruairidh MacAoidh: chòrd e cho math ris-san a bhi tighinn a seo air saor-làithean na bhalach òg, 's gu bheil e an-diugh a' toirt a theaghlach fhèin a-nuas.

Tha Ruairidh 's na h-igheanan a' tòiseachdainn air rathad na mòna, air am biodh muinntir Chlachtoll a' dol a-mach gu na puill-mhòna aca. Cha do rinn deàrrsadh na grèine cus gus na boglaichean a thiormachadh, agus chan fhada gus a bheil Ruairidh a' cur car-a-mhuiltein dhan pholl. Cha bhi e fada fliuch, agus an latha cho blàth. Tha iad an uairsin a' gabhail an rathad mòr, a' stad greiseag air tràigh Chlachtoll, mus cuir iad an aghaidh air an ceann-uidhe - taigh-solais Rubha Stòir.

Cycling sisters Kerry and Kirsty MacPhee from South Uist take to social media to find out the nation's favourite cycle routes. In this episode, they are in Assynt on the north west coast with Ruairidh MacKay, who has fond memories of coming to the area when he was a young boy and now brings his own family here.

The girls and Ruairidh start off on the Clachtoll road once used by locals to reach remote peat banks. They are greeted with dazzling sunshine which, despite its best attempts, hasn't dried out all of the bogs and Ruairidh takes the plunge head first into one. Luckily for him he isn't long drying off in this heat.

They rejoin the main road and continue up the coast, stopping at Clachtoll beach, which seems Mediterranean on a day like this, before finishing their day's cycling at the dramatic seascapes of Stoer Lighthouse. Show less
