Russian athletes' doping ban overturned

Duration: 45 minutes

First broadcast: on BBC Radio 4 FMLatest broadcast: on BBC Radio 4 LW

Available for over a year

Eight days before the start of the Winter Olympics, a court has lifted the lifetime ban on more than two dozen Russian athletes saying there's "insufficient evidence" of doping. Sir Craig Reedie of the world anti-doping agency tells me why he stands by the claims of state sponsored doping in Russia. After Poland's Parliament this morning approved a law which could mean jail for anyone who uses the phrase "Poland's death camps" during the Second World War, an MP tells us why such claims are an insult to his relatives who were imprisoned or killed by the Nazis, and from Israel by an historian who says it's an attempt to re-write history. Veteran Brexiteer Lord Lamont warns of the dangers of attacking civil servants. And we hear from the Camargue, in France, where some farmers believe the answer to bugs and weeds are ducks.
