Jay Rayner invites his panel to New Malden in south-west London. Andi Oliver, Rachel McCormack, Jordan Bourke and Professor Barry Smith join Jay for this week's culinary discussion.
New Malden has one of the largest Korean communities in Europe and so the panel dig deep into Korea's rich and varied cuisine and its cultural significance. They start by raising a glass of soju to welcome in the new year, before proceeding to cover everything from rice through to Naengmyun, taking in Tteokguk, Manduguk and tofu along the way.
The panellists also help audience members deal with a glut of beetroots, making rice and tofu more interesting, and (with the help of Tim Anderson) stopping noodles from sticking together.
