As Alistair tends to a horse's pressure sore from a neglected bandage, Shula declares it's Roberta who's responsible. Alistair shares his recent woes with builder Philip Moss, and they adjourn to the Bull to share horror stories. Shula tells Alistair later that she's let Roberta go. She'd been having trouble with her for a while. Alistair thinks it's the right decision. Now Graham Tate's in post, and the letter is ready to send off to the college, maybe things can get back on an even keel.
Ruby's gone missing. Lilian frantically phones round and Justin combs the village. Meanwhile Matt comes across Ruby and scoops her up. Justin eventually finds them in the Bull and is horrified. He accuses Matt of stealing Ruby, much to Matt's amusement. Hearing Justin give Lilian the good news that Ruby's found, Matt observes that Justin's doing it all wrong. It doesn't work to keep a beautiful, lively creature on a leash. Sooner or later someone else will come and scoop them up... Understanding the metaphor, Justin flies at Matt. Justin returns home and lays his cards on the table with Lilian. Nothing happened in Edinburgh, and if she doesn't trust him, that's her problem. He intends to sleep in the master bedroom with her tonight - Lilian can decide where she wants to sleep. Oh, I know where I'm sleeping tonight, says Lilian as she melts into his arms. Show less
