Cardiff Bay is a playground for visitors from across the globe, but scratch beneath the surface and you'll discover a whole world of colourful characters who live work and play in one of Europe's largest waterfront developments.

In the first programme of the series, fellow boat trip captains and arch-rivals Chris and Ben battle it out to be 'the best boat trip on the bay'. A daily battle of the best ensues, but will Ben, who has navigated the bay's waters for 17 years, come out on top, or will new kid on the block Chris scoop the most passengers?

Cardiff Bay has been home to a diverse community for generations, and the Butetown Community Centre is a hub where many of the old docks crowd meet, play and party. It is a place that unites, restores and cements lasting friendships.

The Dominoes Club is one group that gathers here weekly and they have a big competition coming up with rivals Coventry. With one man down, can the Butetown boys prove their worth to win the annual dominoes competition and keep their pride intact?

Philosophical plumbers Wayne and Brian are out and about on the job and reminiscing about the old Cardiff Bay. Is it 'the bay' or 'the docks', or is it 'Tiger Bay'?

The notorious Tiger Bay is famously the birthplace to one iconic global superstar, Shirley Bassey.
