The Archers

19/05/2017

Duration: 13 minutes

First broadcast: on BBC Radio 4 FMLatest broadcast: on BBC Radio 4 LW

Alice takes Peggy to the hairdresser's, and Peggy returns with more than just a haircut. Fabrice has split up with his partner and can no longer keep his cat, Hilda Ogden. Peggy still has all of Bill's things so adopting Hilda is the obvious solution. Later, Peggy asks Brian to introduce himself to Hilda. He gets scratched and Peggy tells him off for upsetting Hilda.

Brian complains to Justin about Speedwatch, but Justin is looking to the future. With the dairy gone, Berrow Farm is generating hardly any revenue. Brian asks if Justin has any ideas, but Justin is in no hurry, and says that the site's new purpose will reveal itself in time.

Miranda arrives at the Dower House to pick up some vases. While Lilian wraps them Miranda remarks unfavourably on the redecoration. Lilian's happy that it's to her and Justin's taste. Miranda points out that when she marries Justin, Lilian will simply be creating a vacancy for his next mistress.

As they toast Miranda's departure, Justin admires Lilian's china shepherd and shepherdess. Not knowing of their connection with Matt, Justin declares them to be a perfect representation of his and Lilian's new life together. Show less
