Dawn Chorus

2017

Episode 1: Part 1

Duration: 3 hours

First broadcast: on BBC Radio UlsterLatest broadcast: on BBC Radio Foyle

Join Darryl Grimason and Dr Bob Brown live on International Dawn Chorus Day as they link up with radio colleagues across the globe to celebrate this ornithological opera.

Darryl says: “After the comparative silence of a dark winter, spring birdsong is proof of life: a universal panacea that brightens the mood. And when the dawn chorus is in full swing, on a woodland walk or even a dander to though suburbia, it can make you stop in your tracks – look to heaven in the treetops and put a smile on your face. I’m delighted to be up with the lark for this ambitious broadcast, in the company of truly gifted ornithologist, Bob Brown. I wonder who else will join us at Castle Espie on the morning…. I predict surprise guests and impromptu solos from world class choristers.” Show less
