Jas has fallen in love big time with the school locusts and is tenderly looking after them. When Mr Malone, Lily and Mr Salford accidentally let them escape, they daren't break the news to Jas. Their challenge is to get the locusts back into the tank before Jas realises the truth. They come up with various stories to keep her in the dark, including telling her the locusts are a rare breed never before seen in the country. Jas is delighted to hear they are so special and invites TV science presenter Nikita Stricken along to the school to take a look at them. Meanwhile, Martha feels abandoned when Ollie is totally preoccupied with Kate, his new phone app. Appli-Kate is alarmingly human-sounding and acting - she can seemingly do anything Martha can - and better! Martha aims to beat Ollie at his own game by getting her own male version, Aron-App. Then Mrs Griggs in turn gets one, too, and becomes ultra-competitive, suggesting a 'phone-off' to decide which app is the superior.
