After tackling the 1960s and 70s, author and cultural commentator Dominic Sandbrook turns his sights on Britain in the 1980s in a new BBC 2 three part series, The 80s, arguing it was as much about Delia Smith as it was about Margaret Thatcher.

Following on from Kirsty Lang's programme from Rio last Friday, this week we hear from Brazilian artists on their current work. First up is the man credited with bringing musicals to Brazil, Claudio Botelho.

A new documentary about controversial photographer Robert Mapplethorpe looks at the man behind the explicit work. Simon Baker, curator of photography at the Tate, discusses the film and Mapplethorpe's legacy.

Devonté "Dev" Hynes - also known as Blood Orange - is a British singer, songwriter, composer, and producer who has lived in New York for the past decade. He has written for the likes of Florence and the Machine, FKA twigs, and Solange Knowles and has just released his third album as Blood Orange, called Freetown Sound. He talks to John about the album, Black Lives Matter, and how his synesthesia affects his music.
