The Getaway Car

Episode 6

Duration: 50 minutes

First broadcast: on BBC One HDLatest broadcast: on BBC One Wales

Set against the stunning backdrop of the South African countryside, the Getaway Car puts five couples through a relationship MOT. They test their nerve, driving ability and communication skills in a series of thrilling car-based challenges. Host Dermot O'Leary is your guide through Hazard Highway, Off-Road Rage, the Drive-Thru and the high-octane finale that is the Getaway Chase. Only one team will reach the final and go helmet to helmet in a thrilling showdown with enigmatic driving legend the Stig - all in the hope of winning the £10,000 jackpot and being crowned champions.

This episode's couples hoping to snag that £10,000 jackpot in the midnight Getaway Chase against the Stig include sporty, competitive and squealy couple Dan and Emily from Worthing, who split up for a while during their teenage years. Dan mended his broken heart by throwing darts at a photo of Emily. Let's hope there's no repeat.

Nick and Malina from Blackpool combine action man heroics (him) with beauty and poise (her). Do they have any other qualities to draw on to get them to the final?

Lee is 19 and his Mum Shirley is... a few years older. He calls her 'the most caring person in the world', but that doesn't mean he won't yell at her in the Human Sat Nav if she can't guide him through unscathed.

Real-life Fireman Sam and his co-driver, the less well-known Fireman Jim, are rather surprisingly scared of heights and claustrophobic. And that makes you wonder why they chose a show filled with scary heights inside the claustrophobic cabin of a car.

They call themselves big-hearted big kids, but best friends Dom and Tess are going to have to get serious and grown-up if they want to face the Stig and trouser some dosh. Show less
